eDNA

eDNA Security

eDNA Secure is the integrated real time eDNA Security Module. eDNA Secure augments rather than attempting to replace existing network security. With eDNA there is no need to add yet another password for each user. Existing network passwords and security management controls are implemented into eDNA through eDNA Secure. As eDNA resides in recognizable network placeholders (disks, folders, sub-folders, etc.) existing network security controls are easily applied to your eDNA configuration.

eDNA Secure provides six levels of security protection for your eDNA System. The security levels are:

  • User has no access
  • User has read only access
  • User may update existing information
  • User may add new information
  • User may delete information
  • User has unrestricted rights (eDNA Administrators)

eDNA Secure is further supplemented by the integrated eDNA AppServ module. As with other eDNA modules, any level of eDNA security can be applied to eDNA AppServ. eDNA AppServ provides a convenient and integrated repository for eDNA files such as configured eDNA View graphics, configured eDNA Trend configurations, and controlled eDNA Automated Procedures.

Additional security controls are in place to provide a unique logon ID for eDNA Administrators. This unique ID applies to the BOSS administrative tool. With this unique ID in place the eDNA Administrator can log onto and out of your eDNA System from any eDNA networked PC without disrupting the security profile of the person currently logged onto the network at that PC.
