BOSS is an acronym for Boot, Operate, and Supervisory Service. eDNA BOSS is the executive level control program for other eDNA services. As the name implies, BOSS boots other eDNA Services then monitors and supervises the operation of these services. The configuration of which eDNA BOSS controls which eDNA Services is user-definable.
eDNA BOSS is central to administration and control of the eDNA system. All eDNA Services associated with each eDNA BOSS can be individually stopped and started, or stopped and started as a group. eDNA BOSS is used to add new eDNA Services or to remove existing eDNA Services from within the existing configuration. As with all eDNA Services, BOSS is a distributed service that can be used from anywhere your network. This ensures that eDNA administrators are not tied to the physical location of an eDNA server.
Multiple eDNA BOSS services can be configured to utilize and control your distributed eDNA system. On eDNA systems that span multiple sites and wide geographic areas, the use of multiple eDNA BOSS Services compliments network security provided by eDNA Secure and your own network security configuration.
The eDNA BOSS administrative tool provides easy to understand and convenient configuration of eDNA BOSS services. This tool provides an integrated method of updating and controlling remote configurations. |
